Statement of Faith
The following is the foundation of beliefs on which SICA is based.
These core elements of Christianity will be taught without compromise or apology in all subjects and across all grade levels.
The substance of these statements is designated as the primary doctrine of SICA.

Scripture
We believe the Bible to be God's only inerrant, authoritative Word.
The Trinity
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent.
Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His return in power and glory.
Holy Spirit
We believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is necessary for the salvation of lost and sinful men.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith alone.
Faith and Works
We believe faith without works is dead.
Christian Living
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by Whose indwelling the Christian can live a godly life.
Resurrection
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: those who are saved to the resurrection of life and those who are lost to the resurrection of damnation.
Unity
We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Creation and Marriage
God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person. We believe marriage has only one meaning: the union of one man and woman in a single, exclusive, lifelong relationship, as delineated in Scripture.
We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other.
Secondary Doctrine: Secondary or divisive doctrines and issues will not be presented as primary doctrines. When these doctrines or issues arise, they will be referred to the family and local churches for final authority. Secondary doctrine refers to doctrinal issues not addressed in the SICA Statement of Faith. Classroom discussion of secondary doctrine should be on an informative, nonpartisan level. Teachers must be careful not to speak to the students in a manner that would offend the parents.
Presentation of Issues: It is encouraged that all sides of an issue be presented. Teachers should encourage students to follow up on questions with their parents and pastor.
