For the Parents

We believe that God tasks parents with the primary responsibility for their children’s education. While utilizing school resources, parents should remain actively involved without abdicating their responsibility. Independent schools thrive through the active engagement of parents, who contribute their time, talents, and resources to further the school’s mission. Throughout the year, numerous opportunities exist to support our school's immediate needs and long-term future. We encourage you and your family to consider how you can become active partners with us prayerfully.

in your child while at school.

Nurture key habits

in your child, such as punctuality, thoroughness, neatness, honesty, resourcefulness, independent reading, and study habits.

and that all books and assignments are returned to school daily.

Support SICA’s mission

to teach all subjects with academic excellence and from a Biblical worldview consistent with the Statement of Faith.

Thank you for your commitment and dedication to our shared mission.

Communication

At SICA, clear and consistent communication between the school and our families is essential for fostering a supportive and engaged community. We have established various communication methods to ensure parents and guardians are well-informed and involved in their child's education. These channels are designed to provide timely updates, share important information, and offer opportunities for meaningful interaction between families and the school.

Email Communication

Purpose
For routine updates, questions, and concerns.

Teachers and parents are encouraged to communicate via email. This allows for timely and convenient information exchanges. Teachers will respond to emails within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 24-48 hours during the school week.

Phone Conferences

Purpose
To discuss topics in more detail.

Parents may contact the school office to request a phone conference. Our staff will coordinate with the teacher to schedule a convenient time for both parties.

Tuesday with SICA (TWS)

Frequency
Bi-weekly.

"Tuesday with SICA" is a bi-weekly newsletter distributed to the school community. It features articles on education, updates on school events, important announcements, and highlights from different classes and programs. TWS keeps families connected and informed about the broader school community.

Classting

Classting is the platform where teachers regularly share updates and posts about class activities. This may include photos, announcements, homework assignments, and other class-specific information. Parents are encouraged to check Classting regularly to stay engaged with their child’s daily activities and progress.

Coffee with the Principal

Twice a year.

"Coffee with the Principal" invites parents to meet with the principal in a relaxed setting. These sessions provide an opportunity to discuss school initiatives, share feedback, ask questions, and stay informed about significant developments at SICA. It is a valuable chance for parents to engage directly with the school's leadership and build a strong partnership for their child's education.

Monthly Homeroom Newsletter

Frequency
First week of each month.

Each homeroom teacher will send a monthly newsletter to parents and guardians, including important updates about classroom activities, upcoming events, homework reminders, and other relevant information. This will help keep parents informed about their child's progress and classroom happenings.
